Eagles – Falcons Week 1 Inactives

The Philadelphia Eagles travel to Atlanta to take on the Falcons in Week 1, and both teams released their official list of inactive players 90 minutes before the game. For the Eagles, there weren’t really any surprises.

Eagles Week 1 Inactives

  • For the Eagles, the biggest absence will be Rodney McLeod’s. He is going to be their starting safety on defense to pair with Anthony Harris as soon as he is back healthy, and the Eagles will likely lean on Marcus Epps and/or K’Von Wallace with McLeod out for Week 1.
  • Davion Taylor was listed as questionable but was always likely to miss at least this week, if not multiple weeks with a calf injury.
  • Gardner Minshew is the third quarterback and is likely to be inactive most weeks, barring injury.
  • Mac McCain was recently acquired by the Eagles.
  • Landon Dickerson is still recovering from a torn ACL and missed all of the preseason and most of training camp. He is working his way back, but the Eagles are taking things slowly with their highly-touted draft pick.
  • Jack Driscoll, Tyree Jackson, and Josiah Scott are all on injured reserve and will miss at least the first three weeks of the season.

Atlanta Falcons Week 1 Inactives

The only somewhat surprising name here is Wayne Gallman, who many expect to be the primary backup to starting running back Mike Davis. At least for this week, it appears the Falcons will be leaning on just Davis and Cordarrelle Patterson.

The Falcons didn’t list any injuries on their weekly injury report, but offensive guard Josh Andrews is currently on injured reserve. Other than that, the Falcons are healthy.
