Chiefs – Eagles Week 4 Inactives

The Philadelphia Eagles host the Kansas City Chiefs at Lincoln Financial Field in Week 4, with both teams riding two-game losing streaks after opening up the season with a win. The Eagles, as has often been the case over the last four seasons, are dealing with a number of significant injuries to starters and key contributors. This week, a major surprise emerged along with the team’s Week 4 inactive: starting right tackle Lane Johnson is inactive for personal reasons.

Eagles Week 4 Inactives

  • The obvious major note here is Lane Johnson, who was a surprise announcement 90 minutes before kickoff. He is reportedly not injured but is tending to a personal matter and will miss Sunday’s matchup against the Chiefs.
  • Jordan Mailata suffered a knee injury last week in practice and will miss his second straight game. Andre Dillard played well in Week 3 and gets the start again in Week 4.
  • Gardner Minshew is the third quarterback and is likely to be inactive most weeks, barring injury.
  • Brandon Graham is done for the season with a ruptured Achilles. Josh Sweat, Ryan Kerrian, and Derek Barnett will likely see additional snaps with Graham out, and DE/DT Milton Williams is likely to kick out to defensive end more, especially when the Eagles play their “base” defense.
  • Jack Driscoll is back this week and could start at either guard or tackle.
  • Marlon Tuipulotu is not injured but is likely inactive for gameplan reasons against a team that is expected to pass early and often.
  • Rodney McLeod returns and makes his season debut.

Chiefs Week 4 Inactives

  • Frank Clark is a big loss for the Chiefs, especially with the Eagles so banged up along the offensive line.
  • Charvarius Ward and Rashad Fenton are both starting-caliber cornerbacks who will be missed in the Kansas City secondary.
