Eagles-Football Team Week 17 Inactives

The Eagles and Washington Football Team are playing for the second time in less than two weeks after the NFL inexplicably postponed their Week 15 matchup. At that time, the Football Team was devastated by a COVID-19 outbreak and had to play with a quarterback they poached from the Patriots’ practice squad and without a number of other key starters. In Week 17, they are much healthier, but both teams will still be without a number of key starters. Here are the Eagles-Football Team Week 17 inactives and notes.

Eagles Week 17 Inactives

  • The biggest one here is obviously Miles Sanders, who will miss at least this game with a broken bone in his hand. Jordan Howard was listed as questionable with a stinger but is active and will play today. Howard will likely share the backfield and touches with Boston Scott and Kenneth Gainwell against Washington.
  • Derek Barnett missed the entire week of practice after testing positive for COVID-19, but he was activated over the weekend and will play today. Something to keep an eye on: he may play fewer snaps than usual due to missing practice and recovering from COVID.
  • Linebacker Shaun Bradley, a key contributor on special teams, missed time on the COVID list but was ruled out with a shoulder injury on Friday.
  • Cornerback Andre Chachere is on the Reserve/COVID-19 list and was not cleared prior to this game.
  • Brandon Graham, Brandon Brooks, Jack Driscoll, Isaac Seumalo, and Davion Taylor are all on injured reserve. Some expected Brooks to be activated (even if just to practice) after the bye week, but there have been no updates on his status.

Football Team Week 17 Inactives

  • Starting running back Antonio Gibson was placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list on Friday and was not cleared ahead of today’s game.
  • Starting left guard Ereck Flowers was also placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list on Friday. He is also out.
  • In total, Washington has eight players currently on the Reserve/COVID-19 list: Gibson, Flowers, RT Sam Cosmi, Punter Tress Way, CB Darryl Roberts, OT David Steinmetz, OG Beau Benzschawel, and QB Kyle Shurmur.
  • Curtis Samuel has had an incredibly disappointing first season in Washington and is inactive once again after being listed as questionable this week.
  • Edge rusher Montez Sweat is inactive due to personal reasons. Reportedly, his brother tragically passed away this week.
  • Notable players on injured reserve: QB Ryan Fitzpatrick, Edge Chase Young, TE Logan Thomas, S Landon Collins, C Tyler Larson, RB J.D. McKissic, LB Jon Bostic, CB Benjamin St-Juste, and OG Wes Schweitzer.

The Washington Football Team isn’t nearly as depleted as they were the last time these two teams faced off, but they are once again without several key starters and contributors in a must-win game for both teams.
