We haven’t had much NFL or Eagles news over the past couple of months, but with training camp potentially starting soon (fingers crossed), things are starting to pick up. While the NFL and NFLPA still apparently have a lot to discuss and agree on, things are trending in the right direction.
The NFL and the owners are meeting today to discuss safety precautions, financial ramifications, and a plan for the preseason. And if they can agree on the principal plans for those (no guarantee there, that is for sure), those plans will likely be presented to the NFLPA sometime this week.
If we learned anything from how the MLB and MLBPA negotiations went (they went poorly), this won’t be a quick and easy agreement. Expect some back-and-forth, though probably not nearly as bad as how the MLB discussions went.
Anyway, with rookies apparently arriving in town and completing their physicals, the Eagles were able to complete deals that were probably agreed to months ago.
Eagles agree to terms with all 10 draft picks
With rookie reporting dates drawing near, the Eagles were busy on Monday, agreeing to terms the remaining eight of their 10 draft picks from the 2020 NFL Draft. Quez Watkins and Prince Tega Wanogho, both sixth-round picks, had previously agreed to terms.
Earlier on Monday, the team announced it had agreed to terms with first-round pick Jalen Reagor.
Shortly after Mike Kaye of NJ.com reported the team had agreed to terms with fourth-round safety K’Von Wallace, the team announced it had agreed to terms with all of its remaining draft picks via a Twitter thread:
If you click that tweet, you’ll see a thread announcing the signings of:
- QB Jalen Hurts
- LB Davion Taylor
- S K’Von Wallace
- T Jack Driscoll
- WR John Hightower
- LB Shaun Bradley
- DE Casey Toohill
Again, the team announced the Reagor signing earlier in the day, which is why he isn’t included in that thread.
With that, all of the Eagles draft picks from the 2020 NFL Draft are under contract. And when you add those 10 draft picks to the 13 undrafted free agents they signed, the Eagles will have 23 rookies in training camp (if we ever get there).
