The Eagles travel to Arlington, Texas (the stadium isn’t actually in Dallas) on Monday night to take on the Dallas Cowboys in an early-season divisional matchup. Unfortunately, they will have to do so without defensive end Brandon Graham, left tackle Jordan Mailata, right guard Brandon Brooks, and safety Rodney McLeod. The Cowboys are dealing with a few injury situations of their own, however. Let’s take a look at the Week 3 inactives for the Eagles and Cowboys.
Eagles Week 3 Inactives
- Jordan Mailata suffered a knee injury this week in practice and will miss Monday’s game. He is not expected to be out for long but is inactive for Monday night. Former first-round pick Andre Dillard will get the start at left tackle and attempt to show the Eagles and other teams who may be interested in trading for him, that he is a starting-caliber tackle in the NFL.
- Rodney McLeod has yet to play this season as he continues to work his way back from knee surgery.
- Davion Taylor appears to have suffered a setback with his calf injury last week and is inactive after playing briefly against the 49ers.
- Jack Driscoll, Tyree Jackson, and Josiah Scott are all on injured reserve and will miss at least the first three weeks of the season.
- Gardner Minshew is the third quarterback and is likely to be inactive most weeks, barring injury.
- Brandon Graham is done for the season with a ruptured Achilles. Josh Sweat, Ryan Kerrian, and Derek Barnett will likely see additional snaps with Graham out, and DE/DT Milton Williams is likely to kick out to defensive end more, especially when the Eagles play their “base” defense.
Cowboys Week 3 Inactives
- Keanu Neal, who is a former safety now playing a hybrid linebacker position for the Cowboys, is inactive due to being on the COVID list.
- Donovan Wilson started in Week 1 but is dealing with a groin injury.
- DeMarcus Lawrence is the Cowboys’ leader and best player on defense, but he landed on injured reserve this week. This is a big loss for Dallas, especially with the Eagles having to start Andre Dillard in place of Jordan Mailata.
- La’el Collins is currently suspended by the NFL for not just missing several drug tests but also attempting to bribe the league’s drug test collector. Amazingly, the NFLPA had actually worked out a deal for a reduced suspension for Collins, but Collins appealed the suspension anyway and ended up with the initial, longer suspension after an independent arbitrator ruled on the case.
- Michael Gallup is on IR after suffering a calf injury in Week 1.
