You are currently viewing Eagles injury report tracker: Week 6

Whenever they play on Sundays, the Eagles release initial injury reports on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons before positing a final report with official injury designations on Friday afternoon. We track them here and provide some brief analysis.

And since this is the Eagles we are talking about, there are always a lot of names on the injury report and a lot of speculation about who may or may not be available in any given week. So, let’s get to it.

Eagles Week 6 Wednesday Injury Report

As has often been the case this season, the team’s first injury report on Wednesday looked more like a CVS receipt:

Shaun Bradley, Jamon Brown, and Hassan Ridgeway all missed practice due to an illness, which has been a common theme for the Eagles this season. Perhaps they are just being stricter with potential illnesses because of the current pandemic, but they seem to have players out with some form of illness every week.

DeSean Jackson and Alshon Jeffery remained limited in practice, which is not a great sign for their availability this week.

Fletcher Cox continues to miss the occasional practice for personal reasons.

Marcus Epps, Lane Johnson, Duke Riley, and K’Von Wallace all missed practice due to injuries, while Darius Slay is in the concussion protocol.

Avonte Maddox was limited in practice, which is the first time he has practiced since injuring his ankle in Week 3.

Eagles Week 6 Thursday Injury Report

The Eagles got some good news on Thursday, as a number of players returned to practice.

Marcus Epps, Lane Johnson, and Duke Riley all missed practice again. The Eagles could be without all three this week. Johnson, in particular, probably needs a couple of games off to rest his surgically-repaired ankle.

Matt Pryor was a new addition to the injury report with an illness (insert joke about getting sick watching tape of the Pittsburgh game here).

Shaun Bradley, Jamon Brown, Fletcher Cox, Hassan Ridgeway, and K’Von Wallace were all full participants. Bradley, Brown, and Wallace could all see their roles increase this week if Epps, Pryor, and Riley are unable to go.

DeSean Jackson and Alshon Jeffery were limited once again.

Eagles Week 6 Friday Injury Report

Earlier in the day, head coach Doug Pederson spoke to the media and said that Matt Pryor will miss this week’s matchup against the Ravens with his illness. Jamon Brown will start at right guard in his place.

From the Eagles on Jamon Brown:

Head Coach Doug Pederson said that right guard Matt Pryor will miss Sunday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens due to an illness. Veteran guard Jamon Brown will make his Eagles debut and start at right guard in Pryor’s place.

“He’s done a really nice job,” Pederson said of Brown. “He’s a smart guy. He’s aggressive coming off the ball. He fits in really well.”

Brown played in 60 career regular-season games (47 starts) in his first five NFL seasons. Thirty-seven of those starts came at the right guard position.

The Eagles will have their fifth different offensive line combination in six games. Lane Johnson’s status remains up in the air due to his surgically repaired ankle. Rookie Jack Driscoll, who started the season opener, is ready to go if Johnson is ruled out.

Pederson also sounded pessimistic about Alshon Jeffery being able to play but sounded more optimistic about DeSean Jackson. We’ll have more on the Alshon Jeffery situation later today.

UPDATE: Lane Johnson, DeSean Jackson, Alshon Jeffery, Marcus Epps, Matt Pryor, Duke Riley, and Avonte Maddox have all been ruled out.

So, Jack Driscoll will be starting at right tackle and Jamon Brown will be starting at right guard. This is the fifth different starting offensive line the Eagles will use in their six games this season. Not ideal.

With Epps out, K’Von Wallace will likely split time with Will Parks, who is expected to play. And with Duke Riley out, Shaun Bradley may see more snaps at linebacker. It’s possible Davion Taylor sees his first snaps of the season on defense, but it’s more likely that we see Nate Gerry, Alex Singleton, and Bradley at the three linebacker spots.
